I have some thoughts, but I’ll be going off-line this weekend for a much-needed reading and research weekend and will most likely do some writing as well. In case you’re wondering if the Internet is, in fact, affecting your psyche, I recommend this book, The Shallows: What the Internet is Doing to Our Brains, by Nicholas Carr. I’ve been fortunate enough to have had a few peak experiences, as Maslow defines it, in my relatively short life (I’m 28); but I’ve noticed that these have stopped since I bought a computer and have 24 hour internet access. (Ask me how much sleep I got when I finally bought a computer 7 years ago.) Anyways, it’s frightening how easily I can get addicted to things, so I must consciously break ties every so often.
